Heard of the Banana Conferences in Los Angeles? Those Asian American blogger meet-ups are back this year in a much bigger way. AAJA Los Angeles is presenting the V3 Digital Media Conference this weekend — and the world can watch and join the discussion.
The conference brings together digital journalists, bloggers and social media honchos for wide-ranging panels (sports coverage, nonprofits, food blogging, health coverage, fashion, workshops, anime, YouTube stars…). The one-day event is on Saturday, August 25, but the conversation has already started. Check out a video chat series with speakers including columnist Jeff Yang, Richard Lui of MSNBC and Disgrasian co-founder Jen Wang.
Who else will be there?
- David Choi, singer/songwriter
- Clara Chung, singer/songwriter
- Lela Lee, Angry Little Asian Girl
- Phil Yu, Angry Asian Man
- Teddy Zee, film producer
- David Ono, ABC7 news anchor
- Susan Hirasuna, Fox11 anchor
Thankfully for those of us in Asia, V3con will be live-streamed here. Follow @V3con and #V3con on Twitter to join the discussion. The live-stream starts 8:45 am Los Angeles time on August 25 (11:45pm in Hong Kong on August 25).
