NextMedia is seeking a news and comedy animation writer for the Japan market. It is also looking for a Chinese-to-Japanese translator. Here are the details from AAJA-Asia member Michael Logan:
Basically, we’re looking for sharp, funny people to help create animated news and satire for the Japan market, similar to what you see here.
News and comedy animation writer:
+ Native or fluent Japanese speaker, with ability to communicate in either English or Mandarin
+ Identify and research news and topics of online conversation for animation
+ Sharp humor
+ Someone who is very strong in visual story telling and knows what will appeal to 15-35yo Japanese (ie familiarity with gaming, pop culture, internet culture, etc … but who can also make news and politics interesting to a younger demographic)
+ Ability to identify stories with viral potential and know what will get views
+ Visual story-telling skills; background in online video production a plus
+ Versed in Japanese social media
+ Digital business development experience a plus
+restless, aggressive, entrepreneurial and works fast
Chinese-to-Japanese translator
+ Native Japanese speaker, with ability to read Chinese
+ Keen news judgment and journalism skills
+ Ability to identify stories with viral potential and know what will get views
+ Background in online video production a plus
